2022 ELS Speaker Bios


Blair Epstein
Blair is a partner in McKinsey’s San Francisco office and a leader in our People & Organizational Performance and CEO Excellence practices.

Her work focuses on delivering organizational change from strategy to execution, guiding organizations through complex transformations, equipping top teams with the capability to drive and lead organizational change, facilitating organizational design and cultural integration in post-merger environments, and counselling CEOs on how to excel in their roles. In doing so, she helps clients transition into new roles, align their teams, and put the right talent in the right place. Previously she has been a fellow in McKinsey’s Public Sector practice in the Washington DC Office.  Blair has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller scholar.  Her undergraduate degree is from Yale University.

William R. Evanina
Mr. Evanina currently serves as Founder and CEO of the Evanina Group advising CEOs and Board of Directors on strategic corporate risk. Previously, Mr. Evanina was the Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC). In this position, he was the head of Counterintelligence (CI) for the U.S. Government. Under Mr. Evanina’s leadership, NCSC produced the President’s National Counterintelligence Strategy of the United States of America 2020, which has been instrumental in raising foreign intelligence threat awareness to critical infrastructure sectors and the private sector executives regarding supply chain, economic security, cyber, and malign foreign influence. Mr. Evanina chaired the National Counterintelligence Policy Board, and the Allied Security and Counterintelligence Forum comprised of senior CI and security leaders from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. Mr. Evanina also served as Chair of the NATO Counterintelligence Panel.

Mr. Evanina currently serves on multiple advisory boards and is an instructor at the University of Chicago’s distinguished Graham School.

Mandy Tahvonen                                                                                                          
Mandy Tahvonen is the VP & Managing Director of Relish Works, the innovation hub of Gordon Food Service, based in Chicago, IL.  For the past 20 years, Mandy has worked in strategy, innovation and consulting. She has a passion for human-centered design, venture design, corporate strategy and building great teams.

In her current role with Relish Works, she oversees the company's innovation portfolio – determining the focus, approach and type of innovation Relish pursues – and building a team of innovators to help bring new products, services or partnerships to life to benefit Gordon Food Service and the communities we serve. 

F.D. Wilder 
 F.D. worked for Procter & Gamble (P&G) for 37 years. He spent nearly half of his career living and working overseas (5 countries in Latin America), and in global roles. In his last 3 assignments, F.D. led go-to-market strategy, commercial innovation, and digital transformation worldwide.

F.D. was the first Chief Digital Officer of the Global Beauty Sector ($15 billion in revenue), responsible for bringing the “outside in” and increasing the “digital IQ” of P&G brands relative to competition in Hair, Skin, and Personal Care, as well as Cosmetics, Salon Professional, and Fine Fragrances. F.D. was at the forefront of retooling the digital skills of the organization to stay ahead of the pace of change.
F.D. is now a Senior Advisor with McKinsey & Company. In addition, he serves as a strategic advisor to the Army Rangers, NeuroLeadership Institute, Evrythng (IOT), The dtx Company, Section 4, Sleep Score Ventures, and Fernbrook Capital Management.

Kelly Ungerman
Kelly Ungerman is a Senior Partner and McKinsey Dallas Office Managing Partner.  She also leads McKinsey’s Consumer Digital and Analytics Practice in North America.  

In her 20+ years at McKinsey, Kelly has helped global retail, restaurant, packaged goods, tech, media, telco, travel and logistics clients on a wide range of strategy, growth and transformation topics.  Her client service covers a wide range of topics, including digital/ecommerce, omnichannel, customer experience, digital marketing, CRM/personalization, sales and channel management, category management, innovation, pricing/promotions, organization and agile. 
Prior to joining McKinsey, Kelly worked for Coca-Cola in Consumer Brand Marketing and for Andersen Consulting in their Strategic Services group.   Kelly holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a BS in Marketing and Management from Cornell University.

She is a regular keynote speaker on Digital and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).  Kelly is a Board member of the Wallace Foundation.
