Make your voice heard! If you are concerned about how federal government policies affect your business, please join other foodservice distribution leaders at the 2010 IFDA Day in Washington. Key issues on the agenda include tax policy, energy policy, the Employee Free Choice Act, food safety, healthcare, 3% Government Withholding, and repeal of LIFO.
Lawmakers can have a tremendous impact on the health of your business and hearing from employers is one of the most powerful ways to influence legislators. As Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) states: "Grassroots outreach is critical to ensuring that lawmakers have the information they need as the legislative session progresses. It's important to hear directly from constituents and job creators on how actions in Washington affect our constituents.”

Spend a Day in Washington & Be an Advocate for Your Business! During the IFDA Day in Washington, IFDA members can provide insights to lawmakers on how legislation and regulatory actions affect your company and the welfare of your employees. As a constituent responsible for employment in your community, your opinions carry significant weight.
If you have not previously participated in the program, this is an excellent opportunity to enter into the democratic process and make a difference. IFDA staff and legal counsel will prepare you for your Capitol Hill visits with a briefing on key issues. We also take care of all scheduling and are available throughout the Day in Washington to answer questions or provide guidance.
Join IFDA members on Capitol Hill to advance industry priorities!
This year's Day in Washington Program includes the 2010 IFDA Thomas Jefferson Awards. Since 1992, these awards have been presented at the end of each Congress to honor Members of Congress who share the foodservice distribution industry's commitment to free enterprise, demonstrated by their voting records on issues such as taxes, free trade, labor policy, and other economic matters.
