The International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA), today opened the 2017 IFDA Distribution Solutions Conference (DSC) with major announcements about the strategic direction of the organization. In front of a packed crowd, IFDA Vice President of Industry Relations, Brian Lynch announced an enhanced focus on innovation and disruptive technology at the 2018 DSC including an Innovation and Technology Pavilion on the show floor, an Innovation & Technology Track, and a keynote address from Ray Kurzweil, one of the world's leading inventors, thinkers, and futurists. Additionally, IFDA announced the launch of a new C-Suite Executive Summit that will coincide with the DSC going forward. The 2018 DSC will take place October 28-30 in San Antonio, Texas.

IFDA is pleased to announce that Ray Kurzweil — one of the world’s leading inventors, thinkers, and futurists, with a thirty-year track record of accurate predictions — will be the opening keynote speaker at the 2018 IFDA Distribution Solutions Conference. Called "the restless genius" by The Wall Street Journal and "the ultimate thinking machine" by Forbes magazine, he was selected as one of the top entrepreneurs by Inc. magazine, which described him as the "rightful heir to Thomas Edison." Following Kurzweil's keynote presentation, he will hold a roundtable discussion with participants in a new C-Suite level program that will take place at the 2018 conference.
